Marina di Grosseto and its pine forest
The magnificent pine forest surrounding Grosseto Marina, implanted by the Grand Ducat of Lorena in the 18th century and now a Natural Reserve, is the perfect shelter from the suns hotness after a day on the beach. Many paths lead the visitor to explore the green forest and its flora rich of Domesticus Pines and Mediterranean shrub, while the bicycle lane presents a great outdoor activity for families and those sporty individuals, linking the town of Grosseto Marina with Grosseto, Principina and Castiglione della Pescaia through stunning landscapes.
Following great success and fast growth, in the year 2000 Grosseto Marina inaugurated its official harbour – Harbour of Maremma – which has been awarded with the Blue Flag status for its ecosystem standards since 2006. The Harbour of Maremma welcomes boats up to 24 meters long, providing high-quality equipment and services in a modern and relaxed structure conceived to meet the needs of a top level nautical tourism.
